I'm 29, recently separated from my husband of 3 years and living at the firehouse. I always get, "You live where?" I know. It surprises me sometimes, too.
Living at a firehouse may not always be comfortable but it definitely makes for good stories. When people ask what it's like, I always tell them, "At least there's always toilet paper, cable, and PB&J". It's the little things.
I'm an EMT-B with a fire department in VA. I like to say, "I save lives," but really, 90% of the time I'm just a taxi cab driver to the hospital. Even with that, I love what I do now and wouldnt trade it for the world.
What are my interests? These days, I'm only interested in sleep. It sounds terrible but sleep is a hot commodity with what I do.
You can usually find me on an ambulance, either volunteering or for work. Some people say there's life outside these bay doors but I dont believe them.
